Questions

Decks & Patios, answered.

Composite or wood?

Pressure-treated pine costs least up front; cedar looks and smells great; composite costs more but needs no staining. We bring samples of all three to your estimate.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

Most attached decks in the Charleston area need one. When a permit is required, we can help with the drawings and the application.

Do you build paver patios too?

Yes: excavated, compacted gravel base, edge restraint and pavers. Ground-level patios are often the faster, lower-maintenance option.

How long does it take to build a deck?

A typical 16' × 12' deck takes 5–9 working days once permits and any HOA approval are in hand.

Can you repair my existing deck?

If the framing is sound we replace boards and railings. If the structure isn't, we tell you honestly and quote a rebuild. We also frame screened porches.

Does my HOA need to approve a deck?

In many Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island and Summerville neighborhoods, yes. We give you the drawings and specs for the application.
